How Our Mobile Program Works
Nursing and Infant Care Areas at Events in Central Ohio
The Nursing Nest is a Central Ohio nonprofit that brings staffed nursing and infant care areas to festivals and community events.
These dedicated areas give families a supportive place to care for their babies while staying connected to the event around them.
By improving infant care access in public spaces, our mobile program reduces practical barriers. It can ease stress during the postpartum and infant care season while supporting maternal mental health and family connection.
A Mobile Approach to Family Support
Our team travels to community events with a mobile setup designed to support families with infants.
By bringing infant care access directly to public gatherings, our mobile model helps parents and caregivers stay engaged in community life while caring for their babies with greater privacy, comfort and support.
This approach allows us to serve a variety of events throughout Central Ohio and meet families where they already are.
Event Hosts Partner with Us
Event organizers can invite our mobile program to provide infant care access at their event.
By partnering with us, event hosts help create a more welcoming environment for families with infants and show that caregiver needs are part of thoughtful event planning.
This partnership is especially helpful for events that want to improve accessibility, support maternal mental health and make public gatherings easier for families to attend.
Our Mobile Setup Arrives
On the day of the event, our team arrives with a mobile setup designed to create a calm and comfortable environment for families.
The setup provides a private, supportive place where parents and caregivers can care for their babies without having to leave the event or rely on restrooms, vehicles or crowded public areas.
Families Receive Support During the Event
During the event, families can visit our mobile setup when they need a more comfortable place to care for their baby.
This support helps reduce barriers and eases some of the stress parents often face when attending events with infants. Families can take the time they need, feel supported and return to the event when they are ready.
Events Our Program Supports
Our mobile program supports families at a variety of community and organizational gatherings, including farmers markets, community festivals, county fairs, health and wellness events, family-focused celebrations, private organizational events and workplace events.
Our program primarily serves communities throughout Central Ohio.
Bring Our Mobile Model to Your Event
Event organizers interested in making their events more welcoming for families with infants are encouraged to partner with our organization.
Together, we can reduce barriers, support maternal wellbeing and help families stay connected to community life.
Future Growth
As our organization grows, we are building toward expanded infant care access models that can serve larger events, venues and multi-day gatherings.
Our long-term vision includes a dedicated mobile unit that would provide more flexible, weather-protected care areas for families with infants across Central Ohio and beyond. The unit would expand our capacity while offering greater comfort and separation for feeding, pumping, diapering and soothing.
We are also developing specialized support for large festivals and multi-day events, including pumping access and temperature-controlled milk storage for lactating caregivers who are away from their babies for extended periods.
These efforts are part of our broader vision to make infant care access an expected part of public spaces and event planning. Through continued growth, we aim to reduce barriers, support maternal mental health and help families remain connected to community life.
